“I am glad I did my Interior Design & Architecture training with The Design Ecademy, I have learnt more than I ever imagined to learn from an online course.”   What made you choose The Design Ecademy ? After searching through many online interior design courses and getting accepted at Canberra University into Interior Architecture, I came across The Design Ecademy. I was drawn by the course format as it is in-depth and practical in the skills required to practice interior design. Each assignment promoted research and learning AND allowed me to thoroughly explore my creativity. Being an online course, it allowed me to apply my skills as I was studying and run my business at the same time. Additionally, this flexibility of study taught me project management skills as I needed to plan my study time and stick to it in order to ensure that I got maximum benefit from each assignment while completing them in a timely manner.   What part of the course you like best? I thoroughly enjoyed the entire course and learnt more than I had anticipated. I particularly enjoyed learning about colour, history of interior design as well as learning new drawing and rendering skills. The drawing and rendering assignments were new challenges that pushed me more than any other part of the course, but I learned invaluable skills. If I had to re-do a course in interior design, I would do it with The Design Ecademy 100 times over.   Why are you studying interior design? For as long as I can remember, interior design had always been the one field that I was deeply passionate about and it completely resonated with me. Initially after high school, I was studying accounting, but, two years into my course, I dropped it as I hated every minute of it. I started my own small painting business and found so much joy and fulfilment helping people select colours. As customer requests started growing into design consultations, I decided to pursue my true passion and learn how to design spaces that are aesthetically appealing yet functional. Warm Regards   Stella...

“It has given me the confidence to seize every opportunity that comes before me.” My name is Ann Slattery, I am 45 years of age and since I was 14 years old I have had a great interest in fashion and dressmaking.  I spent 15 years making wedding dresses and doing alterations on clothes for local boutiques. I felt I needed to expand what I was doing and knew I needed a ‘qualification on paper’. After exhausting nearly every website I came across the Image and Fashion Styling course. After speaking with one of their course advisors I applied in the full knowledge that it was going to be an intensive course. What a life changing course it was! I started as a very nervous student but with a tutor who was fantastic at confidence building. I have to say I blossomed as the months went by. I learned so much not just about fashion but also about colour, body analysis, vintage fashions, make-up and hair. It was such a learning curve for everyone, some of whom may have thought initially that it was just fashion, fashion, and fashion! During the course I was approached by a stylist to make some jackets for Colette Fitzpatrick of TV3 news to wear reading the news. I have also spent 4 days as a dresser for Trinny and Susannah at their ‘Style in the City’ event. I initially assisted with the fittings and selection of the outfits. I then worked closely with the production team on rehearsals and ultimately dressed a model an average of 8 times in 25 minutes during the event. Over the course of 4 days we hosted 15 shows. I withstood the pressure and thrived on the atmosphere. I have no doubt that the qualification on my CV helped enormously to get this work. I have since applied for work on ‘The Clothes Show’ live in Birmingham and they were impressed with my qualifications. My final project gained me an overall Distinction grade which I was thrilled with. I feel now that the world is my oyster and it is all thanks to this course. I would highly recommend it. It’s hard work but very well worth...

I was a Vice President of a large American bank, managing the international personal banking division in Luxembourg. I was responsible for a team of 45 staff – which included multi-national teams of client relationship managers, operations staff, a treasury team and Compliance staff. Together with the Managing Director, I was legally responsible for the entire bank in Luxembourg which consisted of three separate divisions totalling more than 200 staff.   After completing the course in Image and Fashion Styling I now write a monthly column on this subject for the local English news magazine, read by the international community in Luxembourg. I have been given a free reign to write on any subject of my choice and have use of the magazine’s photographer. It has proved to be excellent advertising for me, since my name, business and email address is listed at the foot of each article. I have also established myself as an Image and Fashion Consultant and deal with private, individual clients and with companies. The work is really exciting and highly varied – for example, I have just been approached by a large company to write and present a course on business dress code. They market to a variety of countries and wish to ensure that their sales staff dress accordingly. “I would never have believed it possible to change careers as I did at the age of 45!”...
